Sender Authentication Package Video Series [YouTube]

To shed some light on the important but often misunderstood measures used to authenticate your sending domain - the Sender Authentication Package in Salesforce Marketing Cloud - I decided to create a video series walking you through every measure in detail. Join me and find out more about SPF, DKIM, DMARC and even BIMI.

Part 1 - Sender Authentication Package Overview

In the first part of the series I provide you with an overview of the individual components of the “Sender Authentication Package” bundle, what they can do for you and what you need to consider when using them. More technical deep dive explanations of SPF, DKIM and DMARC are covered in episodes 2, 3 and 4.

If you enjoyed the video, please give it a like and subscribe to my channel! If you have further questions, please let me know in the comments.

Part 2 - Sender Policy Framework (SPF)

In this video I provide you with an explanation of the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) component of the SAP configuration, which is configured using a TXT-record in your sending domain’s DNS entries. The record defines which systems and servers are allowed to send emails using your domain as a sender. This episode covers how to check if those records have been configured correctly and what the benefits of using them are.

Did you already know about those settings? And did you adjust the default policy provided by Salesforce to be even stricter? Please let me know in the comments!

Part 3 - Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM)

In this video I provide you with an explanation of the Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) component of the SAP configuration, how to check if those records have been configured correctly and what the benefits of them are. The last part of the SAP is the DMARC record, which I’ll explain in the last episode.

Part 4 - Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC)

In this video I provide you with an explanation of the DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) component of the SAP configuration which builds on top of SPF and DKIM. You’ll again learn how to check if those records are in place configured correctly and how you benefit from setting it up.

I also show you an example report you regularly get when using the reporting capabilities DMARC provides you with!

Do you already use these reports? And if so, do you analyze them yourself or are you using a service provider to gather and analyze the data? Please let me and the community know via the comment section.

Part 5 - Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI)

In this bonus video related to the other Sender Authentication series I explain how you can use BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) to let providers display your logo next to your emails in customer’s inboxes. This is a new feature that lets your emails stand out!

Let me know what you think of this feature and if you already use it or noticed brands that already do so.
